Because Healing Happens Together

When your daughter enters residential treatment, your family does not stop being part of her life or her healing. At Orama Residential Treatment Center, we believe meaningful, lasting progress is strengthened when parents and caregivers are actively involved in the treatment process.

Our family programming is designed to help families understand what their daughter is learning, strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and develop practical tools they can continue using long after residential treatment ends.

Rather than simply providing families with occasional updates, we invite them into the process. Through family therapy, parent coaching, regular communication, visitation, and our immersive Family Intensive, parents have meaningful opportunities to learn, practice, reconnect, and grow alongside their daughter.

What Families Can Expect During Residential Treatment

Sending your daughter to residential treatment can bring many questions. How will she adjust? Will I know how she is doing? How involved will I be? What happens when she eventually comes home?

At Orama, families remain an important part of the treatment process from admission through transition planning.

Communication and Connection

We believe healthy family connection should be supported during treatment. Families can expect regular opportunities for communication with their daughter, along with guidance from the treatment team when needed.

Scheduled calls provide opportunities to stay connected while residents practice healthy communication, vulnerability, boundaries, and other skills they are developing during treatment.

Family Therapy

Family therapy creates dedicated space to address the relationships and patterns that affect the entire family system.

Depending on each family’s needs and treatment goals, sessions may focus on:

  • Rebuilding trust and connection
  • Improving communication
  • Navigating conflict more effectively
  • Understanding emotional needs and triggers
  • Establishing healthy boundaries
  • Practicing new relational skills
  • Preparing for reunification and the transition home

Family therapy is not about assigning blame. It is about helping everyone understand one another more clearly and develop healthier ways to move forward together.

Parent Coaching

Parents need support during this process, too. Parent coaching gives caregivers dedicated time to learn, ask questions, process challenges, and strengthen the skills needed to support their daughter both during and after residential treatment.

Coaching may address emotional regulation, communication, boundary setting, family dynamics, treatment progress, home expectations, and aftercare planning. Our goal is for parents to leave the treatment experience feeling more prepared and confident in how they can support continued growth at home.
